Revelstoke Credit Union announces reduced hours to help combat COVID-19

The Revelstoke Credit Union is implementing reduced hours in the wake of COVID-19.

Effective Wednesday March 18, Revelstoke Credit Union and RCU Insurance Services will be open during the following times:

Revelstoke Credit Union

Tues – Wed 10 a.m. – 2 p.m

Thurs – Fri 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Sat 9:30 a.m. –1 p.m.

RCU Insurance Services

Mon-Wed 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Thurs – Fri 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Sat 9  a.m. – 1 p.m.

In a statement sent on Tuesday, March 17, Revelstoke Credit Union CEO Roberta Bobicki said financial and insurance services are an essential part of life and for the time being RCU is choosing to reduce hours as opposed to closing its doors.

“We are committed to providing banking services to our members, and are asking for your cooperation and willingness to conduct your banking in a manner that is not “face-to-face”. For our part we are taking preventative measures by installing a barrier between customer and staff on the Teller line and at our ICBC desks,” said Bobicki

RCU has implemented a strict requirement for those coming into the building to use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the building. They are asking for anyone who is not well, has recently traveled or may have been around someone affected by COVID-19 to not enter the premises.

RCU and RCU Insurance are offering the following options for service during the reduction in hours:

Depositing Cheques or Cash

  • Use the Night Depository mail slot on the Connaught Ave side of RCU.

Business Deposits

  • Please pick up a Night Deposit bag and key and use Night Depository.

Bill Payments

  • Pay on-line or drop into Night Depository with signed instructions on where to pay the bill from.

Loan Applications or Maintenance

  • Will be conducted over the phone or via email. Please call 250 837 6291 Ext 250 to arrange for a lender to call you.

Account Opening, Maintenance, Term Deposits & Estates

  • Will be done over the phone. Please call 250 837 6291 Ext 221 to arrange for an Account Services Rep to call you.

Wealth Management Services, Mutual Funds, Financial Planning, Life Insurance

  • Will be done by phone. Please call 250 837 6291 Ext 271.

General Insurance, Home Policies, Commercial, Liability, Travel

  • Will be conducted by phone. Please call 250 837 6291 Ext 223 to arrange for an agent to call you.


  • Will be conducted in the office with protective measures in place.

“The board, management and staff are committed to meeting your needs during this difficult time,” said Bobicki.

Staff will continue to work full time hours, with some staff working from home. Bobicki said RCU will continue to pay staff wages even if staff are in 14-day isolation or unable to work due to being medically vulnerable.
