The Revelstoke Board of Education has announced that Roberta Kubik will fill the role of Superintendent of Schools for Revelstoke’s School for District. This announcement comes in the wake of the current superintendent, Mike Hooker’s, plans to retire as of October 31, 2022, after a decade of service.

On March 3, 2022, Mike Hooker submitted a letter to the Board of Education expressing how fortunate he has been to live and work in Revelstoke since he first began teaching in August 1997.

Mike has worked hard to develop and maintain strong partnerships throughout our school community. He cares deeply about the students and staff and has a reputation for putting relationships first,” Revelstoke’s Board of Education Chair, Bill MacFarlane, said in the board’s announcement.

Effective August 1, 2022, Ms. Kubik will take over Hooker’s role, bringing an accomplished background of over 25 years of teaching experience.

Ms. Kubik says she has had her sights set on Revelstoke. “Since 2012, I have been keeping my eye on Revelstoke. It’s a beautiful place and an outstanding school district. I am honoured to have been offered the opportunity and I am looking forward to getting to know staff, students and the community.”
