The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce has announced Jana Thompson as their new Executive Director.

Thompson has been working on social media marketing with Tourism Revelstoke as a contractor for the past five months. Prior to relocating to Revelstoke in 2016, she worked in Calgary as a business development for International SOS, a business development manager for Canadian Industrial Paramedics, and a marketing and events manager for the CRAFT Beer Market.

Locally, Thompson has been involved with the LUNA Art Festival and as a board member on the Revelstoke Cycling Association.

Thompson starts on Sept. 20. She replaces outgoing executive director Jamie Mayes, who left for a position as program manager for Imagine Kootenay.

Chamber members can meet Thomson on Oct. 11 at The Taco Club, which will be hosting the chamber’s October chamber lunch event.

The Mountaineer reached out to Thompson on social media and via the Chamber, but the latter said she wouldn’t be available for comment until after she starts on Sept. 20.
