Brad Pommen, Lab Director at MIDAS Fabrication Lab, is running two workshops to spark your interest in digital fabrication and showcase the business potential of the upcoming Revelstoke Fab Lab.

Introduction to Laser Cutting
Friday, 30 Nov
When: 9:00am – 12 noon
Where: Revelstoke Community Centre
Cost: $30

A three-hour introduction to laser cutting and how you’ll use it in your business or prototyping. With a focus on software and design, this workshop will provide tons of real-world examples of applications across a wide variety of industries.

The laser cutter is likely be one of the most popular machines at the Revelstoke Fabrication Lab. Brad will discuss vector and raster images, saving and exporting, file formats, scale, line colours, etc., and then show you what you can make. He’s not going to have a laser cutter with him, but this is a good introduction to the technology so you’ll know what you can do with it once the Revelstoke Fab Lab opens up.

If you’re interested in learning more about the soon-to-be Revelstoke Fabrication Lab, you’ll want to come out to this session.

3D Printing Certification
Friday, 30 Nov

certification on the 3D printers at the Revelstoke
Fabrication Lab. It’s efficient, user-friendly and
particularly useful for artists, engineers, makers and
innovators looking for fast, high quality pieces in
just about any size or material.
