Learn to empty the mind to come back to Self. Through easy and accessible practices known as Sadhana or spiritual practice, you’ll be guided in various Pranayama (breathing techniques), Pratyahara (withdrawing the mind from the senses), Dharana (one-pointedness) and Dhyana (deep concentration) exercises. No experience required and all are welcome.

Join Sonja for close to two hours of experiential learning followed by a potent and incredibly deep tissue release.

In the first portion of the workshop, students will learn an entire Yin Yoga sequence designed to release aches, pains, emotions and improve sleep. This sequence will be provided in handouts with images, posture names, posture benefits and instructions. Participants will be taught how to find their own body’s proper alignment and comfort with props like bolsters and blocks so that students may be empowered to continue the balanced Yin Yoga sequence at home.

Once the sequence is learned, yogis will be taken through the entire sequence for the juiciest Yin Yoga experience ever as they are guided through meditation & breathing techniques, accompanied by calm music to truly release tension from head to toe and to integrate the experiential workshop.

All of this is followed by an original Yoga Nidra script written and guided by Sonja that will induce a state of hypnagogic sleep in all.

Come experience an incredible release into peace with this Yin and Nidra experience.

Sonja’s Bio:
Sonja is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher who offers yoga teacher trainings certified through Yoga Alliance International. She is certified in many styles of yoga from fiery Power and sweaty Vinyasa to flowy Yin and Nidra. She has over 1000 hours of training and has taught close to 2500 hours of yoga.

Sonja is the founder of Emergence Yoga (www.emergenceyoga.com), a registered yoga school offering trainings set in the heart of Canada’s wilderness while honouring Traditional Territories, the connection of the forest to our wellbeing and teaching all who arrive how to emerge into their lightest, brightest selves through the art of Yoga.

How do we optimize health in todays fast paced society?

All the way from Australia, Dr. Anthony Golle & Chani Thompson join us for an in-person talk about HEALTH — and how to achieve it best. Through Dr Golle’s incredible story of taking his 170-lb. nephew through a personal health transformation, as portrayed in the internationally acclaimed film, ‘Overfed and Undernourished’, Anthony reflects on what truly matters to achieve health and HOW we can put that into practice. ‘Overfed and Undernourished’ looks at why optimal health is a challenge, even in a time of ‘food abundance’.

Anthony Golle has been studying human performance and wellness for over two decades. His professional training is in Exercise Physiology, Chiropractic and Neuro Linguistic. Him and his wife, Kate Golle, and their 3 children Zavier, Bodhi, and Zara, have inspired hundreds across the globe.

Dr. Anthony’s desire for understanding human wellness was sparked after he almost died from Meningococcal Meningitis. Since that near death experience, he has elevated his health to receive awards in the Australian Army for ‘Most Outstanding Soldier’ and ‘Best at Physical Training’, a National title for Tae Kwon Do and represting Australia at the World Championships Hawaiian Ironman Triathalon. 

Chani Thompson has long had a passion for helping others achieve their goals. With her background as Registered Nurse and Certified Health Coach, Chani know’s the profound effects of what a great mindset, a beautiful life balance and the right attitude towards food plays on our bodies & our overall well being.

Chani’s health journey began in 2013, when she decided to take back her own health by achieving her personal goal of competing in her first fitness competition. In just over 4 weeks after winning 5th place at the Nationals in Melbourne, Chani went on to secure the world title for Australia and win gold at The Natural Olympia in Los Angelas. It was in this moment that she asked herself……..’How do I help others get to where I am right now?’.
