Revelstoke residents will soon be able to livestream city council meetings directly to their online devices.

The city has had plans in place since last year to begin broadcasting council meetings online. City of Revelstoke IT technician Geoff Wilson was in attendance at the Jan. 9 regular council meeting for a test run of the equipment. Councillors are equipped with microphones and a dome camera installed in the ceiling of council chambers will video future meetings for broadcast.

Meetings should begin being streamed online sometime near the end of February.
