The first week of nominations in the upcoming municipal election has been eerily quiet. So far only Gary Sulz has come forward to announce he is running for Revelstoke mayor. Sulz is currently a city councillor. As of 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 no one had officially come forward to run for any of the six spots on city council.

Nominations for School District 19 board trustees saw a bit more action with a total of four people putting their names forward. They are Alan Chell, Janet Lemieux, Garry Pendergast and Sarah Zimmer. Of the four candidates only Chell is a current trustee.

Up to date information on council and school trustee candidates can be found on the city’s website. Municipal elections take place across the province on Oct. 20.
