Don’t forget to lower the boom.

That’s the message for a service truck driver after a raised boom on a service truck snagged overhead lines on May 10 on Leach Street, causing a power outage in parts of Revelstoke mid-morning.

The truck snagged the lines, damaging five utility poles, including snapping at least one.

It disrupted a number of services including power, cable, fibre and telephone lines.

The power was back up in about an hour in some areas, but remains out in others. The other services are still being worked on.

BC Hydro says that 358 customers are currently affected. Crews are on site making repairs.
