Missing dog Dierdre located deceased

The owner of a vehicle that crashed on the Trans-Canada Highway near Revelstoke on May 10 is recovering in hospital, but his missing dog was found deceased by a searcher.

In a follow up to a story from earlier this week, a puppy that went missing following an MVI on the Trans-Canada Highway has been located deceased on the morning of May 13.

In a media statement, Cpl. Thomas Blakney said that seven-month-old Mastiff Dierdre was located by a volunteer searcher about one kilometre from the scene of the MVI, approximately five kilometres east of Revelstoke on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured in the crash on May 10. He is still recovering in the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.
